Final Post

In my blog , i was publishing texts about my favorite subjects as well as subjects that affected me or i found interesting. I like adding a picture in my posts because i Feel that sometimes it expresses the idea more than the post . My first post is an example . The picture and the title are enough to express the idea which is no matter how disabled you are you are allowed to live like any other persons and practice your favorite sports and activities. It even make you stronger and push your limits. The subjects that i wrote about are not really related but i wanted my blog to be diverse and not focus on only one subject.

Reality TV affecting society

A reality TV show stars a non-celebrity or a volunteer who wants to participate in the program. The core role is to see what their reactions in certain scenarios are, and how they face given situations. The audience feels like they have a connection with the show’s stars as they feel that they are real and normal people representing them. Viewers are then entertained by the sadness, depression, frustration, and emptiness that the reality stars will express in the show. Audiences cannot seem to get enough of the drama of other regular, everyday people placed in unrealistic settings manipulated for the world to see. Overtime, exposure to these shows will subtly cultivate viewer’s perception of reality. Reality television shows have a negative influence on today’s society by portraying a false sense of communal experience, creating unrealistic standards of living, as well as affecting the productivity of growth to the younger generation.

Alzheimer Research paper

Alzheimer Research paper

I learned a lot about Alzheimer when I was writing about it during this semester. Alzheimer’s has a major impact on those who help care for an affected individual.A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in a loved one has as enormous effect on the person with the disease, but the progressive nature of the disease also places a tremendous strain on the person’s family, friends and especially the primary caretaker. Depression and high levels of stress are seen commonly in family caregiver of people who have Alzheimer’s . High financial burden, loneliness, physical and emotional burnout and possibly even death: these are the things that await people who take care of relatives with Alzheimer’s . For those caregivers , the best solution would be social interaction such as focus groups and associations.

Languages

Languages

I love Learning a new Languages . I speak , Arabic , French and English and just started to learn Spanish. It is amazing how each language is different from the other. Pronunciation is the hardest part. But with time , i found that the more we get older the harder is the challenge. The language has to become part of your daily life in order to learn it well. I give private French tutoring lessons and I see that meeting students for 2h a week doesn’t really help them learn it if they don’t practice by themselves.

Diversity in neighborhood

I found the video and the article very interesting . It is about Chappaqua which is a neighborhood located in the town of New Castle in northern Westchester County, New York. It is well known for being a very wealthy neighborhood where annual median income is $160,000 and the median sale price for a home is $1 million. It is also home for past presidents and famous celebrities. But lately, this neighborhood is facing planning issues. A developer is offering to build a new affordable housing projects which will be home for families of four earning no more than roughly $64,000 , as well as poorer families. The residents and the representative of Chappaqua are not agreeing with this new housing project claiming that the firetrucks will be facing road issues which we see in the video of cbs news that it is not the case. For me , i agree with the developer. I think diversity in a neighborhood is very important . It lowers the crime rates and make it easier for all to interact with each other.

Gabriel García Márquez

Gabriel García Márquez

I am writing this article in honor of the amazing novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He passed away on April 17 , 2014. His stories were among the best in the world. One of my Marquez favorite quote is : ” No medicine cure what happiness cannot. ”

For me , this is what i was thinking about when i wrote my research paper. Even though the medicine help us feel better but being mentally well is the most important. Having good times with family , friends or any persons brings joy in the person’s life and make them feel better. For Alzheimer patients , find persons to talk to can be helpful to fight the disease.

Attention and technology

Louis described technology as an alternative person to be with.If we are by ourselves, the most common thing we do is using technology such as phones or ipad. He mentions the “text and drive” as example of us trying to not be alone. It’s very interesting the way he described it because it seems that we are ready to do anything including putting others in danger to not be by ouerselves.According to his example, technology is considered very distracting.

On the other hand, technology can also be very helpfull in many ways. One of them is the news.Today, we can get the news anywhere and anytime. We can also choose what sectiom we would like to read.Even better, we can read news about past events unless in the daily news which shows only recent news.I think this would be very helpfull for researchs. It’s also a very helpfull for disabled persons who cannot go buy a newpapers. It can make their life easier.
